A Salute is an Italian restaurant and full-service cocktail bar located in an 1850 church on Main Street in Matawan, New Jersey. The 176-year-old building has retained its character and warmth, creating a comfortable setting for lunch, dinner, and celebrations. The enclosed, climate-controlled Garden Room is available year-round and features its own bar. A separate seasonal outdoor patio is available for warm-weather dining and live entertainment. Happy hour is offered Monday through Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the bar.

At 74 Main, the vibe in A Salute is energetic and friendly throughout, with outstanding food coming out of the kitchen to always make your time here with family or friends an enjoyable and entertaining experience.

Over the last 45 years, as a restaurant our location has given families in the Monmouth County area many memories by hosting family parties for baptisms, christenings, communions, confirmations, engagements, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, first dates and celebrations of life. A Salute looks forward to rekindling those fond memories and starting new ones with all of you. Some of you might remember it as Bart’s for the last 40 years; we welcome you to come see what we have done throughout the property.

Anthony Rizzuto coordinates every private event here. He takes the first call, walks you through the rooms, helps pick the menu, sets the timeline, and is on the floor on the night.

No account handovers, no ticketing system. Seven days before the event he confirms the final headcount, menu and seating — and then it is handled.
